WINDOWS CLEANUP TOOL — AWCT

Optimize. Stabilize. Restore.

The Windows Cleanup Tool (AWCT) automates trusted maintenance steps: creates a restore point, fixes networking, removes junk files, repairs system images, defrags the system drive, and finishes with a clear health report.

What AWCT Does

Before any change, a System Restore Point is created so you can roll back if needed. Then AWCT performs a safe, automated sequence:

Flush DNS Cache
Resolves network hiccups and improves reliability.
Reset Winsock
Repairs corrupt network stacks.
Remove Temp/Log/Prefetch
Frees disk space and clears stale data.
Run Disk Cleanup
Uses predefined safe settings for automated cleanup.
DISM Health
Checks, scans, and restores Windows image health.
Defrag System Drive
Optimizes file layout for faster access on HDDs.
Safe by design.
AWCT uses built‑in Windows tools and reversible actions wherever possible.

Before You Run

Choose the version you want (Basic or Advanced) and double‑click the file.
If prompted Open Executable file? choose Yes.
If you see Windows protected your PC, click More infoRun anyway.
Heads up:
Advanced mode will open the Resource & Performance Monitor near the end. When the 60‑second scan finishes and you close the report, AWCT will show a completion message.
Logs (Advanced):
After completion, find logs at C:\Logs\WCT (e.g., CleanupLog‑YYYY‑MM‑DD‑HHMM.txt).

System Report — What You’ll See

AWCT’s final report summarizes key specs and health indicators:

Windows Install Date
CPU & System Directory
Boot Device
IPv4 Address
C: Free Space (GB)
Memory — Total / Available (GB)
Last Boot Time

AWCT Information & How‑To

Basic vs Advanced — What’s the difference?

Basic runs the core maintenance actions without creating a log file. It’s ideal for quick, safe cleanup when you don’t need artifacts.

Advanced performs the same core actions plus generates a time‑stamped log in C:\Logs\WCT and launches the Windows Resource & Performance Monitor at the end so you can review a 60‑second diagnostic report.

Where do I find the log file? (Advanced)

Open C:\Logs\WCT and look for CleanupLog‑YYYY‑MM‑DD‑HHMM.txt. This file includes timestamps for each action, success/error statuses, and summary metrics.

SmartScreen says “Windows protected your PC”
  1. Click More info.
  2. Click Run anyway.
  3. Confirm the UAC prompt if shown.

This appears when Windows doesn’t recognize the file’s publisher. AWCT does not modify critical settings without a restore point.

Manually open Performance Monitor (GUI)
  1. Press Win + R, type perfmon, and press Enter.
  2. In the left pane, go to Reports → System → System Diagnostics.
  3. Double‑click to open the latest report.
